Important News
Second graders will be taking the MCT2 Practice test this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings. Please get plenty of sleep, eat breakfast, and arrive on time each day!
We are enjoying learning some social studies and science during our reading time these last weeks of school. Students learned about Mississippi the past 2 weeks. We will learn about the planets in our solar system this week.
We have started a reward plan for attendance. Teachers are being asked to keep up with who has perfect attendance each week. The office will give a reward to each student who has perfect attendance for the whole week. This will continue for the remainder of the year. The May reward will be placement in a drawing for a $100 bill!
ü Behavior: Please check your child’s Student Agenda each day for his/her Behavior Mark. Please encourage your child to bring home a color of blue each day.
ü Homework: Please check your child’s homework binder and agenda for specific assignments and messages. Initial each night. The agenda also has requirements to be done by your child: weekly information and spelling words. Your child will receive 10 points each week if all requirements are completed. Thank you for doing your part!
ü Please check and clean out your child’s "keep" pocket each day. Please leave the Important papers in their plastic sleeves. Also, leave the spelling dictionary in the back pocket of the agenda for our use at school. Thank you!
ü Thanks so much to those of you who have donated items to our classroom and offered your help. Your kindness is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for sending more Kleenex tissues! Spring allergies have cleaned us out!
We also need more pencils! We are doing lots of writing these days!
Please look over all graded papers your child brings home, so you will be aware of any weak areas. Go over the missed items with your child. Thank you for your help!
I do appreciate your support as we are doing our best to learn the new common core curriculum standards! The students are working very hard. I am very proud of them, and I know you are, too. Those good grades don't come easily!
