Ancient World Persons Biography beginning of time-450 A.D.

 

Biography of person who lived from Beginning of time to 450 B.C. will be due February 22, for extra credit and February 24 for everyone going on the trip to Belize. For Belize trip students a requirement of two pages discussing the significant accomplishments made by the subject will be turned in with a 5-6 minute presentation on the subject.

 

March 1 and March 3 the Biography will be due for everyone. Students must research subjects using two to three different sources and Wikipedia is discouraged. Students must learn to research more in depth (past the second option on Google).

 

 

Middle Ages Biography 450 A.D.­- 1350 A.D.

Biography  

Students need to focus on a chronological biography. Students need to write this biograqphy in the order of from birth to death. Students must research subjects using two to three different sources and Wikipedia is discouraged. Students must learn to research more in depth (past the second option on Google).

 

Middle Ages Structures 450-1350 A.D.

 

Due March 29 for extra Credit and March, 31 for full Credit

In this assignment students are required to choose an invention, engineering feat or a great architectural structure from the ancient times 450 A.D. to 1350 A.D. The purpose and objective of this assignment is to teach students about World history and the engineering accomplishments made during the Middle Ages, and to have students develop problem solving skills to finish and to meet their goals.

 

--In this assignment students do not choose just to make any castle or a castle, but must replicate similarly after a specific castle or place historic site found throughout the world.

 

--A four page explanation of what the student learned while working on the assignment will be due. Accuracy to the original is taken into account.

 

--No kits, internets print outs, or purchased professionally pre-made structural designs on projects must not take up over 30% of the project. Students need to be creative and develop problem solving skills to complete this assignment.

 

-- The student must use at least 6 different medium. A medium is the physical visual part of a project. For example: if a student used construction paper, a cardboard, pencil, a wood base, paint and colored marker they would meet the medium requirement.

 

--The student will give a presentation in class on their project. An outline of their presentation will need to be turned in after the student has finished presenting. The student will be graded on a rubric. The presentation grade will count as part of their testing grade.

 

-- A 3-dimensional model with labels and a fact sheet of the student’s project will be due the day of the presentation. Students working in a group will turn this in with their group and will be graded on, historical accuracy, effort, labeling and the fact sheet.
