RHS Senior Weekly Announcements

   Final Announcements for the Year

Well, it's hard to believe that this year has passed as quickly as it has and we are only days from graduation!   As I said in the May Senior Newsletter, it has been our pleasure to share in the successes of the RHS Class of 2012 and our honor to share in the excitement that your future holds!   On behalf of the RHS Administration and Faculty, we hope that your new path takes you were you want to go; brings you great joy; and yields many pleasant surprises!    Congratulations to the RHS Class of 2012.

Your School Counselors,

Becky Fields & Tiffany McKinnon

Final Reminders

All graduating seniors are reminded that you have a MANDATORY graduation practice at 9:00 am Monday morning at Jackson First Baptist Church.   The church is located at 431 North State Street and driving directions may  be found in your May Senior Newsletter (download available above).     Students are reminded that appropriate school attire should be worn to practice and that your attendance is mandatory.     Practice should be over by 10:30 a.m.

5:45 pm -   Graduates wanting Cap & Gown Portraits taken by Bruckner's Photography should report to First Baptist Church.

6:00 pm -   All remaining graduates should report to the church

6:15 pm -   RHS Class of 2012 group picture will be made on front steps of the church

7:00 pm  -  RHS Graduation Ceremony

Graduating seniors are reminded that the required dress for graduation is as follows:    Girls need to wear a nice dress/skirt & blouse with dark dress shoes or sandals;   Boys MUST weart DARK-colored dress slacks, a WHITE dress shirt with a tie, belt, and dark dress socks and shoes.

Graduates will be given a order form at the Monday practice if interested in ordering a DVD of the 2012 RHS Graduation.   Cost of the DVD will be $30.00 and order forms should be turned in at the Information Desk in the lobby area of First Baptist Church Monday evening between 5:45-6:45.       You will receive your DVD copy via mail by the middle of June.

Tickets for the 7:00 pm ceremony will be given to the graduating students during the Monday morning practive session.   Every invited guest (including all children) MUST have a ticket to gain admission into the graduation ceremony that evening.    Based on the number of graduating seniors in the RHS Class of 2012, each graduate will receive 13 tickets for invited guests to attend the graduation ceremony.   Based on the number of students wanting additional tickets, there is a possibilty of perhaps picking up one extra ticket at the end of practice... but DO NOT count on this as a certainty!    If you need more than 13 tickets, I would advise that you have your child contact their classmates to see if they have extra tickets as the school simply has no additional tickets to give out!

General Reminders for parents & other guests attending Monday evening's ceremony:

-  Please be sure to be at the church and seated PRIOR to 7:00 pm.   We will begin the ceremony promptly at 7:00 pm and once the ceremony begins the doors will be locked and NO ONE else will be allowed to enter.

-  No saving of seats will be permitted.

-  Please remember to cut off all cell phones or other electronic devices upon entering the sanctuary.

-  There will be absolutely NO OUTBURSTS TOLERATED during the ceremony to includes screaming, hollering, or any other type of noise or disturbance.   Security personnel and police officers will be present and will immediately escort from the sanctuary any individual(s) who violate this policy.    Additionally, any person removed from the building will be taken by the police and charged with disturbing the peace.

Final Announcements

Parents:   Just so you will know ... we have already gotten the information from your graduate as to where their final transcript should be mailed and we will begin sending transcripts out on Tuesday.    You can check with you child as to the college/location they requested that we mail their transcript.

Graduates needing future transcripts must come up to the school, fill out a transcript request form, and pay a $2.00 transcript fee.    Once you graduate, we cannot  accept future transcript requests from you via telephone or email.

Senior girls-  Don't foget that if  you plan to attend an in-state or out-of-state college this fall and participate in sorority rush, you need to please log on to www.jacksonpanhellenic.com. and fill out an information form.    The information you provide will be used to assist the local sorority alumnae ... but does NOT "register" you for rush at the school you plan to attend NOR does it guarantee you recommendations from alumnae.   Please plan to complete the information form before Thursday, May 31st.

There  are still a few scholarships opportunities out there so be sure to check the Scholarship Listings link at the top of this page.

Have a Great Summer !
