Spring is Here!

This week in Dorney Park we are going to read a story called "GLoris Who might be my Best Friend"

Here are the spelling words:

meet   meat   week   weak   too   two   bee   be   tail   tale   mane   main    see   sea   threw   through

The children have to know not only how to spell them but also the meaning of each.  WHen we give them the test they will be given with a context clue. For example:

There are seven days in a _ _ _ _.(week)

The boy did not eat so he felt _ _ _ _.(weak)

This week we are talkng about homphones which are words that sound alike but have different meanings.

We will also look at comparative words with the 'er and est ' endings. 

In Grammar we will continue learning about adjectives. In Reading we will focus on understanding the characters in the sentence. 

Report Cards will go home this Monday 3/21/11

In Math we will begin learning about money.  We are almost finished with our unit on weather and we will have an open book test this week. 

Our new Science Unit on Animals and how they change will begin at the end of this week!

We also have a class trip to Central School to look forward to this week.  Happy Spring
