Huckert's Happenings

Week of May 24-28

Bible - This week we will learn about the Daniel's faithfulness to pray and the lion's den. A lesson quiz will be next Friday, 6/4. 

Reading - Our comparison and contrast cluster is coming to a close. The skill knowledge and vocab best will be on Thursday, and the Performance test will be on Friday.

English - Our last chapter is a review of things we have learned this year as well as diagramming subjects and verbs.

Spelling -List 29 test Wednesday. Lesson 31 will be introduced on Thursday. We will do the review lists after that. 

Math - X6 fact quiz on Friday. Be practicing all multiplication facts for the following families: X0, X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, and X9. You should be building your automaticity. 100 Facts quiz on next Monday.

Science - We are combining chapters 11 & 12 on cells and skin. The test will be on Wednesday.

Friday - Bible lesson quiz, math x6 quiz, and Reading Performance test

- Continue studying regularly for your weekly tests and practice multiplication facts nightly.  Let's finish third grade with excellence.

Process questions-

1.  What two or three things can be compared or contrasted?
2.  What is the same and what is different about them?

3.  What significant similarities and differences exist between these things?

4.  How do these similarities and differences help main events or the outcome of the story?

Vocab:

1. essential- very important or necessary

2. inventory- a complete list of items that are available

3. accumulate- to gather things together or pile things up

4. certified-proven by an official to be true

5. startle- to frighten or surprise suddenly

6. sturdy- strong, firm, or built to last

7. shrug- to lift the shoulders to express doubt or lack of interest

8. mock- to imitate or make fun of
