Week 35: May 2-6, 2011 Monday, May 2, 2011 We will finish up all activities today on the novel Among the Impostors. Students will be given class time today, but work that is not complete will need to be completed at home and turned in Tuesday, May 3, 2011. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 Computer Lab Students will take the final STAR reading placement test of the year. Hopefully each student will show a year's growth (OR MORE!!) in reading. Many students have worked so hard this year on the Reading Logs and the AR tests that levels should soar with the Eagles!! Students will then complete a quick research on modern day piracy on the high seas. Many of them don't realize we still have pirates attacking ships today. Wednesday-Thursday, May 4-5, 2011 Today we will discuss and identify facts about pirates. Students will follow along with the Powerpoint and lecture by taking notes on a template. We will use this information to create Piratepedias. Studnets will concentrate on vocabulary, reading comprehension, and dialogue writing throughout the next two weeks.
Friday, May 6, 2011 FIELD TRIP to the Infantry Museum of Fort Benning. This is a great opportunity for the students to see history come alive. Students will also watch a presentation at the IMAX theater. |
