Dear Parents,

       Hopefully everyone had a well rested long weekend.... Yes our school year is quickly coming to the end and the boys and girls are very excited they have worked very hard all year. Please help them to continue to focus the end is almost here!

      First grade will be collecting money for Habitat for Humanity for our charity event in June. The children will have fun drawing/designing a home to help the homeless. A bake sale will be held on June 5th please donate or help out if you have your clearances. Also the First Grade Parents are being asked to bake or bring in goodies for the Kindergarten Graduation it has been a long tradition for First Grade Parents to do this. Maybe some can do The First Grade Bake Sale and others can bake for The Kindergarten Graduation. Thanks for all you do!!

                  May 21st- May 25th 

 Religion: We will have a test on Tuesday on Chapter 11. This we be our last test in Religion before Exams : } We will continue to discuss how the Holy Spirit helped the church to grow and what the first church members did. We have been saying the rosary and crowning Mary!!! Thank you for sending in the Rosaries.

Math: We will finish the fraction chapter and then begin to skip around. Please use flash cards this will help them to study for Exams.

Reading: This week's story is called "Simple Machines". This is an expository nonfiction. Our comprehension skill this week is main idea and summarizing. Our phonics skills this week are /oi/ and /oy/. We will also practice /er/ and /or/. Our spelling words this week are oil, soil, voice, boy, boil, toy, coin, oink, joy, point, against, heavy. Our high frequency words are against, heavy, goes, kinds, today.

***Exams are just tests and we review in class.
