Hello Warriors,
Can you believe we are one month away from the end of the school year? It seems to have flown by. Progress reports went out Friday, April 20th. It you didn't see your child's report, talk to your child or contact the school. We are currently having a used book sale in the library. This does a couple of things for the library: first, it will clear out a number of old, duplicate, and/or out dated books and second, it will make a little money for the library. And of course, it will put more books in the hands of our students!!! Paperback books are 4 for $1.00, hardback books are 2 for $1.00 and VHS movies are $1.00 each. The sale will go on through May 4th, so if your student is interested, please send a small amount of money with them and help support your school library. At the request of Purvis Lower Elementary librarian Donna DeFatta, we have set up a donation box in the library to collect items for 3 different missions to Peru this summer. If you or your student are interested in donating to this worthy cause, e-mail me for the list of items they are requesting for the trips. As we approach the end of the school, I am trying to collect all the library books out, especially those that are a month or more overdue. Check with your student to see if they have a late book and have them bring it in ASAP. Remember state testing is coming up in May: May 1st is the 8th grade Science test, May 2nd is the Algebra I test and May 8th-10th is MCT2 testing. Not only do we need the students to be well-rested and ready to go for testing, we need volunteers to help monitor and proctor these tests. If you are available one day, all days or any combination thereof, please contact me here or Mrs. Terri Pierce in the main office.
