OVER THE SUMMER-

1.      Purchase an index card box – you will need it for both your speech index cards and next year for your term paper index cards

2.      While reading your books/completing your interview(s), you should write 60-100 index cards on your speech (for interviews, each question should be a card). As I explained when we met, have one piece of information on each card so that they can be arranged into paragraphs when you return to school.

3.      DO NOT FORGET – you are also required to read Nothing But the Truth by Avi and Animal Farm by George Orwell. We will discuss both of these books when you return in September. You will have a test on Nothing But the Truth and will have a writing assignment on Animal Farm.

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2011 – Deadline for collecting at least 60 cards for your speech

TERM PAPER WILL BEGIN AFTER SPEECHES ARE WRITTEN IN OCTOBER – YOU DO NOT NEED TO THINK ABOUT YOUR TERM PAPER, TOPICS, ETC. UNTIL THEN
