Monday 2/6: Read for 20 minutes in your Independent Reading Book and record your reading. Bring your book to class. Be sure to finish and revise your CBAS writing.

Tuesday 2/7: Revise your CBAS writing once tonight.

Wednesday 2/8: Revise your CBAS writing once. Try to bring up the score of one category by one point with your revision.

Tuesday 1/31: Read for 20 minutes in your Independent Reading Book. Record your reading. 

Wednesday 2/1: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook.

                         Word Wall is due tomorrow 2/2.

Thursday 2/2: Read for 20 minutes in your Independent Reading Book. Record your reading in your Reading Log.

Monday 1/23: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook. Record your date where you begin the writing.

Tuesday 1/24: Read for 20 minutes in your Independent Reading Book. Record your reading in your Reading Log.

Wednesday 1/25: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook. Record your date where you begin the writing.

Wednesday 1/11: Read for 20 minutes in your Independent Reading Book and record your reading in your reading log.

Thursday 1/12: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook. Record the date at the beginning of your entry.

Tuesday 1/3: Bring in an Independent Reading Book.

Wednesday 1/4: Find three commercials from TV or Youtube.com. Identify the persuasion techniques used in these commercials and explain how they appear.

Thursday 1/5: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook and date your entry.

Monday 12/19: A typed Rough Draft of you Historical Fiction pioece needs to be in class for tomorrow 12/20. 2 page minimum. Bring your Flash Drive to class and Historical Fiction novel.

Tuesday 12/20: Continue revising your Rough Draft for the Historical Fiction Writing Piece. Conduct any research which will add authenticity to your writing.

 Final Draft is due Friday, 12/23.

Wednesday 12/21: Print a copy of your Rough Draft to bring into class tomorrow 12/22. This should be no less than 2 pages, double-spaced, 12point font.

Thursday 12/22: Final Copy packet of the Historical Fiction Writing piece is due tomorrow, 12/23. The packet must include your peer-edited Rough Draft, your revision checklist, and your typed Final Copy. The Final Copy needs to be at least two full pages, double-spaced, 12 point font, with the proper heading in the upper-right corner.

Monday 12/12: Write a two page interview for your chosen celebrity/author/etc. in your Writer's Notebook. Use the provided Oprah interview transcript as a model for proper formatting.  

Tuesday 12/13: Continue working on your journal entries from the perspective of your chosen famous person. You need to have two entries in total based upon two major events from that person's life. This needs to be in your Writer's Notebook and a minimum of 2 pages in length altogether.

Wednesday 12/14: Complete the screenplay in your Writer's Notebook from Back to the Future. Refer to the clip on Youtube.com. Search: Back to the Future (1/10) Movie CLIP Doc Brown Reveals the DeLorean.

Thursday 12/15: Decide which option you will pursue for the Historical Fiction Writing Task. Begin brainstorming important details you will need for the piece. Please put this information on a piece of paper for class tomorrow (or you can do this in your Writer's Notebook). You will need your novels for class tomorrow.

Monday 12/5: Complete the "Historical Fiction Conflict Illustration Worksheet". This will be collected for a grade.

Tuesday 12/6: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook and date your entry.

Wednesday 12/7: Read for 20 minutes and record your reading.

Thursday 12/8: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook and date your entry. Be sure to bring your Historical Fiction book to class.

Monday 11/28: Bring in an Independent Reading book to class.  

Tuesday 11/29: Write for 20 minutes in your Writer's Notebook and date your entry.

Wednesday 11/30: Complete both sides of your Historical Fiction Novel vocabulary sheet.  Each  section must be finished for tomorrow.

Thursday 12/1: Read for 20 minutes in your Independent Reading Book and record the pages you read in your Independent Reading Log.

Monday 11/14: Read up to the following page in your Historical Fiction novel and identify any conflicts with sticky notes:
