Spring Weather
Here is the big
Round yellow sun,
The sun warms everything.
Here are the rain clouds
In the sky,
The birds will start to sing.

Frank, the Frog Collector
I'm Frank, the frog collector,
and I'm happy to report
my collection's nearly finished;
I have frogs of every sort.
I have frogs on ancient bicycles
with shiny silver bells.
I have frogs proposing marriage
to their froggy mademoiselles.
I have frogs with pink umbrellas.
I have frogs engrossed in books.
Even frogs that dangle fishing poles
in nonexistent brooks.
There is only one that's missing;
just one blank space in my log.
So I'm begging, Mom and Dad,
can I please have a REAL frog?
--Kenn Nesbitt

May
May's a month of happy sounds,
The hum of buzzing bees,
The chirp of little baby birds
And the song of a gentle breeze.
This week, we are beginning a new unit on Cells and Heredity. We started on Monday by talking about the nature vs. nurture debate. This week, we will be exploring how objects are reflected (in preparation for using microscopes) and talking about how to use microscopes as a tool for exploration and information gathering.
My homeroom has their Unit 5 Stems test on Monday.
