                                                            Spring Break!!!!

Wow, it is hard to believe that it is time for spring break.  The time change also arrives this week-end so don't forget to turn your clock forward one hour.  I hope that everyone has something fun planned for the week and that all the students will come back refreshed and ready to learn.

I hope that these last nine weeks will be extremely productive and that our students will learn all that they need in order to be successful on the MCT 2 test in May.

As the school year progresses, many students become a bit tired of learning and doing their work.  Please encourage your child to keep working hard and to be sure to do his/her assignments.  Remind them that before long they can start counting down the days until summer break.  This time of the year is really crucial as we cover new material while reviewing the old material.  Make sure that your child is at school every day so that they don't miss any of the information we are covering.  Also, encourage your child to work hard to do his or her best.

Quite a few of the students come to my class without pencils or paper.  Please check to be sure that your child has the supplies that he/she needs to complete his/her work.

Following spring break the students will began focusing on the following topics:

6th Grade Math:   The students will learn about absolute value and adding and subtracting integers.

7th Grade Advanced Math:  The 7th Grade Advanced Math class will be working on recognizing, describing, and stating the rules for numerical and geometric patterns.

8th Grade Math: Students will be learning about the angles formed when parallel lines are cut by transversals (adjacent, vertical, complementary, supplementary, corresponding, alternate interior, and alternate exterior.)
