Welcome to zoology class.  It is my goal for you to leave thisclass with a deep understanding and appreciation of the study of zoology.  Most of you have already taken biologyand therefore learned that all organisms on earth possess certain adaptationsthat allow them to survive in their own particular environments.  In zoology we are going to take aconcentrated look at the animal kingdom with emphasis on evolution, structureand function, animal diversity and ecology. 

Required Materials

1.      Zoology Textbook

2.      Writing Utensils- Pens/Pencils (If you borrow from me Iwill need collateral.)

3.      Notebook

4.      Ten-dollar lab fee.  (Due in the first ten days of class.)

5.      Colored pencils, scissors, markers. (Extra credit)

Grading

Your grade will be calculatedas follows:

Exams/Projects = 30%

Quizzes = 30%

Labs = 20%

Homework = 20%

Total = 100%

Student Expectations

1.      Students are to be in their seat before the tardy bellrings.

2.      Students are to be prepared with the required materialseveryday.

3.      Students are to be respectful to each other and theteacher.

4.      Students are to turn in all work WHEN IT IS DUE!

5.      Students are to watch their language.  NO CURSING!

6.      Students are to stay in their seat UNTIL THE BELLRINGS!

7.      We will follow the school tardy policy.

8.      No hats allowed, no cell phones or ipods out duringclass.

Attendance

Only EXCUSED absences will beallowed to be recovered (made-up) this year.  If you miss a test or need extra help, I will be availablebefore school or on Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-3:30pm.  Come and get help if you need it!
