WELCOME TO MRS. DALBON'S WEBSITE Wow I can't believe this year is almost over. Kindergarten End of the Year Celebration will be on Tues.,May 22, at 9:30, in the Church. Come one and all. LUNCH TICKETS: Please write your child's name on his/her ticket and the lunch choice. The menu is on the STM website. Thank You for your help. Scholastic Books: Only 1 more book order coming home. READING/PHONICS: The class has been learning the vowel /Aa/, /Ee/, /Oo/, /Ii/ and this week is /Uu/. We have talked about the short and long sounds. We have also learned that some /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/& /u/ sounds can be at the beginning or in the middle of the word. Vowels are very important in learning to read, so any time you have time review them with your child. The children are doing a great job finding beginning sounds at home, but please encourage them to write their own words. Please continue reading with your child. This will help with their fluency. MATH: A Fun new Chapter all about measurement. FIELD TRIP: The field trip was such an experience for the Class. They got the view of Pittsburgh, the stadiums, the inclines on our bus ride to and from downtown. The Pittsburgh Symphony was outstanding and the children loved and recognized the music played. SCIENCE: We will be focused on how the children grow and change. SOCIAL STUDIES: The class has been learning about American Holidays. They will also learn about family celebrations.
