Welcome to Mrs. Patton's 7th Grade Science Website!

This is my 5th year teaching science at North Rowan Middle School and I am very excited about this
new year.  
We're already off to a great start with a great group of students. Our first week was 
spent discussing our school rules and procedures, and then we moved in to the foundation of science,
which includes the primary steps of the Scientific Methods. We spent a few days learning about the 
microscope, how to set up an experiment, how to analyze data, and how to communicate results.


We are currently working on Weather.  Students are incorporating literacy strategies into their science content to continue working on reading and writing skills.




Parents are welcome to visit our classroom at any time.

I will continue to keep this website updated as our curriculum changes. Parents and students can also 
go to the North Carolina Department of Instruction to review the North Carolina Standard Course 
of Study, where you can see all topics that my class will discuss during the entire school year.
