Hi,welcome to my schoolnotes page.
Wow, I can't believe that the first nine weeks of the 2010/11 school year is all most over.
Please pardon my delay in posting on schoolnotes.
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mrs. Joan Rowell. I have truely been blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the greatest school in the district, Baxterville. I have lived in this community for fourteen years and I dearly love it.
I currantly teach junior high reading and seventh grade World History.
As a first year teacher, I have to say that I have laughed, cried, loved, and learned more in the last eight weeks than I ever thought possible. I have never had a greater experience.
It is a with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to be apart of these young peoples lives.
In reading we have worked on figurative expression, story elements, & genres.
We are currently working on main idea, inferring, and text structures.
In world history our studies have included "The Five Major Religions of the World," archeaology, geology, and anthropology. We have also explored map concepts.
We are currently working on the concept of "regions."
In the near furture we will be exploring Ancient Egypt.
If you have any question or need to contact me for any reason you may reach me through my school e-mail
joan.rowell@lamarcountyschools.org or by phone during my conference period 10:20 to 11:30 everyday.
Thank you for sharing your children with me.
