Second grade students are reviewing "r"- controlled sounds ("bossy" R) that they learned last year. (See the main page.) In Language, we are studying the parts of speech (focusing on verbs) as well as contractions. We are reading selections that focus on families and animal habitats. In all units, we will be looking at some fiction and non-fiction reading selections, accessing ways to find more information, and doing some writing activities. Please encourage your child to read every night for 20 minutes: Reading, like everything else, gets better with practice!
