Monday 10/26/09 - We finished watching "March of the Penguins" and put together life cycle books.
     Homework - Begin filling out your book with info from your notes. Remember the titles on each tab are Sponges, Cnidarians, Worms, Mollusks, Arthropods, Insects, Echinoderms, Fish, Reptiles, Amphibians, Birds, and Mammals

Tuesday 10/27/09 - We discussed the life cycles of fish and amphibians.
     Homework - Continue filling out your life cycle books. They will be checked tomorrow.

Monday 10/19/09 - We discussed the life cycles of mollusks. There will be a quiz on Thursday for all life cycles covered up to that point.

Tuesday 10/20/09 - We learned the life cycles of arthropods: crustaceans and arachnids.

Wednesday 10/21/09 - We finished invertebrate life cycles by talking about insects and echinoderms.

Thursday 10/22/09 - We took our first life cycle quiz.
     Homework - If you did not do so in class, set up your lab format in your journal as follows:
Title: Ladybug Lab
Purpose: To observe the life cycle of ladybugs
Research: (Answer in complete sentences.) What are the 2 kinds of insect metamorphosis? How are they different?
No hypothesis is needed
Data: Make a data table with 2 columns - one labeled "Date" and one labeled "Observations". Do not make boxes in the table yet so that you have room to write each day's observations.

Wednesday 9/23/09 - We learned about different types of cells - bacterial, plant, animal, and specialized cells. Then we started looking at the parts of the microscope.

Thursday 9/24/09 - We had some practice using the microscope to prepare for our first lab tomorrow.

Finish the microscop practice packet, and read over the procedure for tomorrow's lab.

Friday 9/25/09 - We completed our microscope lab.
     Homework - Finish conclusion questions if not done in class.
