Monday 11/2/09 - We learned about Ohm's law and practiced for our quiz re-take tomorrow. Tuesday 11/3/09 - We took the speed and acceleraation quiz re-take. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Monday 10/26/09 - We took the speed and acceleration quiz and received details for the upcoming project. Tuesday 10/27/09 - We started our new chapter by discussing electric charges and static electricity. Wednesday 10/28/09 - We went over answers from Monday's quiz. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Monday 10/19/09 - We worked on the "Stopping on a dime" lab, pg 300. Tuesday 10/20/09 - We learned how to graph speed, and use the graph to figure out speed using slope. Wednesday 10/21/09 - We learned what acceleration is and how to calculate it. Thursday 10/22/09 - We went over the practice problems from last night's homework. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* *All Holy Childhood Missions money ($1.25) is due tomorrow, 10/15/09!* Happy National Earth Science Week!! Monday 10/12/09 - No school - Columbus Day Tuesday 10/13/09 - We started our next chapter by going over the "ABC"'s of what we already know about motion. Wednesday 10/14/09 - We reviewed how to convert units, and we learned how to measure speed, distance, and time. Thursday 10/15/09 - We went over last night's homework and kept practicing the formulas for speed, distance and time. Friday 10/16/09 - We used our speed formulas to see how fast the plates move around the Earth. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Monday 10/5/09 - We had high schools come to visit, and then we went over the study guide for Wednesday's test. Tuesday 10/6/09 - Miss Siliato, our couselor, came to talk to us about friendship. We also worked on a Science World. Wednesday 10/7/09 - We took our Chapter 10 test. Thursday 10/8/09 - No class - Bishop Ahr visit ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Monday 9/28/09 - We had a high school visit and then met our little buddies. Tuesday 9/29/09 - We had some practice with the formulas learned in this chapter. Wednesday 9/30/09 - We finished our paper airplane lab by flying our own designs to see how air resistance affects their flight. Thursday 10/1/09 - We worked on study guides for next week's test. The test has been moved to next Wednesday because of a high school visit on Monday, and Miss Siliato, our counselor, coming in to talk to us on Tuesday. Friday 10/2/09 - We played Jeopardy to review for the upcoming test. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Monday 9/21/09 - We learned about friction and did a lab to see it in action! Tuesday 9/22/09 - We learned about gravity and air resistance. Wednesday 9/23/09 - We went to the computer labe to experiment with some simulations. Thursday 9/24/09 - We learned about balanced and unbalanced forces, and how all the forces we have talked about play a role in space science. Then we started a lab to see how air resistance and gravity affect the flight of paper airplanes as a model for actual airplanes. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Tuesday 9/15/09 - We went over yesterday's lab and then began to learn about Newton's laws of motion. Wednesday 9/16/09 - We learned about Newton's 2nd Law of Motion, and practiced using the formula. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Friday 9/11/09 - We received our textbooks and went over the rules and requirements for the year. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
