Monday 11/2/09 - We took the Morality Chapter 3 test
     Homework - none

Tuesday 11/3/09 - We began our next Morality chapter by talking about sin in the world and in our lives.
    Homework - Read pgs 44-45 usual; You are a photojournalist for a newsmagazine. Your assignment is to capture a "good news" moment. Describe the photograph you would take to give a glimmer of hope to the world.

Monday 10/26/09 - We discussed how everyday acts of kindness keep Jesus' story and mission alive in today's world.
     Homework - pgs 36-37 usual; Imagine you are interviewing one of the helpers in the pictures on pgs 36-37. What questions would you ask?

Monday 10/19/09 - We discussed "our stories", and how our past and present can affect our futures.
     Homework - pgs 32-33; Imagine you lived during Jesus' time and just came back from hearing Jesus teach. What are your reactions?

Tuesday 10/20/09 - We discussed how Jesus' taught through images and stories to make them more understandable to His followers.
     Homework - pgs 34-35 usual; Make a list of at least 5 acts of goodness and kindness that people your age can do that show witness to Jesus' teachings.

Wednesday 10/21/09 - We began by discussing what it means to be a part of a group, and then we talked about the Nicene Creed as a statement of our basic beliefs as Catholics.
     Homework - none

Thursday 10/22/09 - We continued our chapter on the Nicene Creed by discussing what we believe about Jesus, and especially that He is both fully God and fully man. We also began talking about the 4 marks of the Church: one, holy, catholic, and apostolic.
     Homework - Design a Church Logo.

Monday 10/12/09 - No school - Columbus Day

Tuesday 10/13/09 - We ended our chapter by discussing freedom and responsibility, and how the Ten Commandments play into that.
     Homework - Study for Morality Chap 2 test

Wednesday 10/14/09 - We reviewed and took our Morality Chap 2 test.
     Homework - Study for Confirmed Chap 2 test for Friday.

Thursday 10/15/09 - We read our Visions magazine.
     Homework - Study for tomorrow's test.

Monday 10/6/09 - We talked about what is needed for happiness and that sometimes ads make us think that what they are promoting will bring us happiness, but it is usually only temporary,
     Homework - pgs 22-23 usual; Imagine you are planning a public-awareness campaign and you want to communicate the theme "Avoid pleasure traps on the road to happiness." How you you do this? What ideas would you have?

Tuesday 10/6/09 - We discussed Jesus' guidelines for happiness, the Beatitudes.
     Homework - pgs 24-25 usual; Imagine you are an Israelite traveling with Moses. It has been 3 months since you escaped slavery in Egypt. You have just heard Moses explain the Ten Commandments. What are your positive and negative reactions?

Wednesday 10/7/09 - We discussed what happens during the Confirmation Rite, and the laying on of hands.
     Homework - Scripture worksheet and pg 12 in your Confirmed journal

Thursday 10/8/09 - We read our weekly Visions magazine.

Monday 9/28/09 - We had a study session because of many classmates being absent.
     Homework - none

Tuesday 9/29/09 - We began chapter 2 in Morality by discussing what happiness is and how we can try to work towards it.
     Homework - pgs 20-21 usual; Ask at least 3 people (of different ages if possible) to complete "Happiness is..."

Wednesday 9/30/09 - We began chapter 2 in Confirmed in the Spirit by talking about being part of a group, and how we are all part of a much larger group, the Church, through our sacraments of initiation.
     Homework - Journal pg 7

Thursday 10/1/09 -  We talked more about the sacraments of initiation, and how each in its own way makes us members of the Church.
     Homework - Journal pg 8 and on pgs 9-11, reflect on the covenant God made with you as a baptized Catholic. How does God fulfill His promise to you? How do to fulfill your promise to God?

Friday 10/2/09 - We read our Vision magazine to prepare for Sunday's liturgy.
     Homework - Tuesday's Morality homework if not already completed

Monday 9/21/09 - We talked about obstacles and guides on the road to happiness with God.
     Homework - Highlight/underline pgs 12-13; Imagine you have been assigned a role in a new film which calls on you to bring to life someone who is a true friend to another. Jot down characteristics you feel you should bring to this role.

Tuesday 9/22/09 - We finished our 1st chapter in our Morality book by talking about the gift of God's friendship.
     Homework - Study for the test tomorrow.

Wednesday 9/23/09 - We took the Morality Chap 1 test.
     Homework - Finish God's love simile posters.

Thursday 9/24/09 - We finished our first chapter in our Confirmed book by talking about how the Holy Spirit works through us to help those in need, and we discussed Confirmation names.
     Homework - Study for tomorrow's test

Monday 9/14/09 - We began discussing what morality is, and how it can help us make choices.
     Homework - Rd pgs 8-9 and highlight/underline key ideas; The Ripple Effect worksheet

Tuesday 9/15/09 - We continued discussing what morality means in our lives, and that just how a sculptor sees a masterpiece in a block of marble, we are works in progress that God sees a masterpiece in.
     Homework - Read and highlight/underline pgs 10-11; Imagine you are a scultor's block of marble. Use a drawing, a prayer, a poem, or a few sentences to describe how you are "emerging from the marble" or becoming the person you wish to be.

Wednesday 9/16/09 - We began working in our Confirmed in the Spirit book by discussing how the Spirit is always with us, and its influence in the Old and New Testaments.
     Homework - Journal pg 6; Getting to Know the Holy Spirit worksheet
