Enduring Understanding: 

Physical changes cause alterations in the shape, form, or volume of the substance but not its identity.  In chemical changes, new substances are formed with different characteristic properties.

 

Essential Question: 

How do we know if a substance is undergoing a physical or a chemical change?

District Standards:

DS11:  Distinguish between Physical Changes and Chemical Changes in substances.

However, an informal assessment must be completed at the end of each class period.
