Welcome Back!! The summer sure did go fast but it will be another fun year in the art room!
KINDERGARTEN THROUGH EIGHTH
All classes will begin the year by creating a pinwheel. The project will be an imporant element in celebrating the International Day of Peace on September 21. We will have a ceremony in St. Anne's park that involves singing, prayer, reciting words of peace in several languages and having the students "plant" their pinwheels in the ground to create an installation artwork that will remain up for the day. Please refer to the monthy art newsletter sent out at the beginning of each month for more details.
Students will also become aquainted with their new sketchbooks for the year by either decorating their sketchbook covers (6-8) or reviewing important terms and vocabulary pages (K-5).
As always, at the beginning of the year we will also review rules in the artroom, location of materials and information about what to expect for the year. I have a lot planned and look forward to starting the year!
