Kindergarten: We are learning to say hello, hola pronounced ola, What's your name?  inverted ? Como te llamas? pronounced komo tay yamas  and the response is Me llamo pronounced may yamo and good -bye Adios adeeyos.  I will stay on this for the next two weeks.27/9/11 we will color a large poster for greetings and on 4/10/11 we will have a test on recognizing the greetings. 

Grade One: We are learning the alphabet in Spanish. This week and the following week we will work on A to J The pronounciationis as follows: A = ah, B = bay, C = say, D= thay, E = ay, F = effay, G = hay,H = achay, I = ee, J= hotah, K = kay, L = ellay and M = ehmay. On 28/9/11, 

 J = hotah. We will turn in both papers for this week on Wednesday, September 13th.

Grade Two: We will review the alphabet in Spanish and begin to learn to spell our first name, nombre for the next two weeks & then we will learn to spell our last name,apellido. As we progress, we will learn to spell in Spanish for each new word we learn.

Grade Three: This week we will review the alphabet and we will start greetings We will reviewthe following week.  Again, we will  be using the alphabet to  spell the new words we are learning.

Grade Four: We will review the alphabet, spelling our first and last name in Spanish. We will then review numbers from 0 to 30 and then we will continue to 50 cincuenta pronounced seenkwenta.

Grade Five: We will review spelling first and last name in Spanish. Also this year, all new vocabulary will be spelled in Spanish.  My next goal is to teach counting from 0 - 100 cero a cien

Grade Six:We have been viewing videos about Mexico and Spain. 13/9 we will finish the video on Spain. I will explain the Hispanic Countries project. This is a hands - on project with a small group of students researching a Spanish speaking country culminating with each group presenting the information on the country they have been assigned and bringing in a food to share with the class. In the past,this project has been well received and students learn to work in a group.  This is a student project, however, the students may need help in preparing the dish they present to the class.

Grade Seven: We have been reviewing last year's work working on adjectives and agreement. Tomorrow 13/9the students will translatethe paragraph on page six and do Actividad 1 on page six for homework.

Grade Eight. The students are working on Greetings(saludos) or a farewell(despedidas). They chose their Spanish name for class. Today, we worked on asking each other Como te llamas en espanol. Please forgive absence of accent marks or inverted question marks or explanation marks because this program does not have the capability to do this. Tomorrow, 13/9 we will work on De donde es? Where are you from?
