Students identify colours as different wavelengths of light, and explore why objects appear to have colour. Students explore the principles and properties of reflection and refraction, and their application in everyday situations. Students investigate the characteristics of concave and convex mirrors and lenses. They enhance their understanding of how these devices function in a variety of optical tools. Students also demonstrate the formation of images using lenses and compare the function of the human eye to that of a camera lens. *********************************************************

Together with all of our friends in the education community, we are looking towards a very different school year in 2020-2021. The challenges of the pandemic response and associated public health measures might slightly impact our ability to offer full hands on activities but we are still committed to support our students and families. Safety is our number one priority. Please remember: We are in this together. This is a time for prudence, not panic. Science, not stigma. Facts, not fear. We had a great start and just a snapshot of what we accomplished so far: - We reviewed Covid-19 safety guidelines including mask wearing/disposal, hand washing techniques
