Welcome to Mrs. Hofmann's 8th Grade Math school notes page.I hope everyone is enjoying the Spring weather. We are working with decimals, fractions, and percents for the next few weeks. Our next few tests will be a little different because we are short on time until the EOG. We will work an example of each type of problem in class and then the students will complete the rest of the test at home. The tests will be for Chapters 7, 8, 11, and 12. We will review before taking each of the take-home test test. I will continue to have a weekly tutoring session except during shortened weeks. Please ask your students what we are talking and learning about in Math class. Also, we have homework most nights. I usually give around 20 problems or less. I ask the students to write the homework assignment in their agenda on a daily basis. If your student does not have homework in math for three days in a row, please contact me by email or phone. Please ask your sons and daughters to work as hard as possible in math class so that they will thoroughly prepared for the EOG and ninth grade math. Please remind your students to follow the procedures of the Math classroom. Those procedures include: Entering the class silently, and immediately beginning the Math warm-up. Also, raising your hand before speaking. Respecting everyone and the school. Walk down the halls silently and in a single file line on the right side of the hall and sidewalk. Always keep your agenda with you.Students may not leave the classroom without their own agenda. No candy or gum unless given by Ms. Hofmann. Finally, no cheating. Thanks for all that you do and don't forget to stop and enjoy the wonderful weather and colors of the fall season. :-) Mrs. Hofmann's email: hofmanncs@rss.k12.nc.us Mrs. Hofmann's phone number 704-633-2922 X818. |
