HEALTH CLASS

*****On Nov. 3, members of the LHS GSA will be speaking to the 7th and 8th grade classes about Tolerance and Diversity to go along with the Health Curriculum.

Grade 6:   Grade 6 students are currently working on their communication and decision making skills.  Hopefully these skills will help them be more successfull when working on the  Enterprising People projects.

Grade 7:    The 7th grade students did an excellent job at the assmebly answering questions about Tolerance, Acceptance, Respect and Diversity.  The 7th grade team and I were very proud of them. 
The next unit in grade 7 is about Drugs and how they change the body.   The focus will be on Nicotine, Alcohol and Marijuana. They will be watching the video "The Truth about Smoking".

Grade 8: The 8th grade students have finished their Stress lessons and will now be learining more about Respect, Tolerance and Diversity.  The presentation by the GSA was a great way for the 8th graders to start this unit.  We will be watching a video called Cruel Schools next week and it is about how intolerance, bullying and harrasssment can lead to violence in schools and what we can do to be part of the Caring Majority.
