THIS WEEK IN HEALTH.....
Grade 6 : The sixth graders are finishing up the Mental Health Unit on Self Image, Self Esteem and Traits of Good Character. The students will create silhouette collage as a final evaluation. Student s are encouraged to bring in some magazines.
Grade 7: The seventh grade students are finishing the tobacco unit and will be learning about the effects of marijuana on the body next. Some of the classes are also completing an activity related to Tobacco Advertisements. WHAT IF TOBACCO ADS TOLD THE TRUTH? What would they really say?
Grade 8: Eighth grade students are learning about ALCOHOL and the effects of alcohol on the body. They are watching the DVD: The Truth About Drinking.
There have been a number of students that never handed in the Current Event from the last unit. Students can still hand in this assignment. Extra Rubrics are available in the Health room. The topic for the last current event was Resiliency and/or goal setting.
