WHAT'S HAPPENING IN HEALTH CLASS: Grade 6: Sixth graders are now staring their WELLNESS UNIT/PROJECT. The focus will be on Eating Healthy, Exercise and Rest. Grade 7: Students in seventh grade will be having an open book assessment this week on Gateway Drugs and how these drugs effect the body. The next unit of study will be FIRST AID and SAFETY. Grade 8: Students in eighth grade have finished their unit on Cruel Schools and will now be focusing on Discrimination, Stereotypes, Prejudice and Hate Crimes. Students will be watching a video called "A Place at the Table". The video takes a look at these issues throughout history. Students will also be participating in a very powerful activity called "Crossing the Line". Any student that does not feel comfortable participating in this activity will have the right to pass. |
