Hello all!!! I DID have jury duty yesterday and today. Luckily, I have NOT been picked to serve on a trial jury. I WILL be in school tomorrow and can get back to "normal" at least for the rest of this week. (Remember, I am on call for 4 weeks- so 2 down, 2 to go)-Keep praying!

I did leave work/Homework the past 2 days and I know that Mrs. Scalisi and Mrs. Campion have been taking very good care of my class. I will see them all tomorrow. I know I missed "the excitement" of the uninvited SQUIRREL on Monday- can't wait to hear what the kids tell me about it...

*REMINDER: CLASS TRIP on Thursday, November 19, 2009. We will probably be leaving around  9:15 and will return by 12:00/12:30. We will have lunch back in school and I will confirm that the children will still be able to purchase lunch that day. PLEASE have them wear their GYM UNIFORMS for the class trip.*

**Cafeteria Snack- there has been some ?? about when the K's can purchase lunch snack in the cafeteria at lunch time. We have been delaying it so the kids could establish better eating patterns, finish their lunches, before wanting that snack. The time has come! Perhaps use it as a privilege and do not give snack money every day, but once/twice a week-it is only a suggestion, the choice is ultimately yours.**

It was good to get back to "normal" today!

Homework- Handwriting Ii;Phonics- long vowel sound of Ii

*Class Trip TOMORROW- children must wear gym uniforms and bring backpacks,lunch,etc... as usual. We will only be gone in the a.m. and will come back to ICS for lunch and the rest of the afternoon. Children will be able to buy lunch, etc,...*

We had a RECYCLING ASSEMBLY in the lower church today- ask the children all they learned. It was great and we have to HELP our Earth- it is their future!

*Our 1st class trip was great! The kids were so well behaved- I am SO PROUD of them!!!*

(Ask them what they saw/heard at the "live performance" today. It makes them practice the recall/retelling skills in reading. ) The play was Beauty and the Beast!

Homework- Handwriting- Ii/ Ii words; Phonics- short vowel sound of Ii

A look ahead- point out patterns whenever you can, as we work on the Pattern chapter in Math! We are working on our Pilgrim hats,Native American headbands, placemats,...all for our little Thanksgiving feast next week. We will also be making our own butter and baking our own corn muffins next week!

We know we periodically ask of you to give, whether it be $$ or items,...and you always find it in the goodness of your hearts, to give whatever you can. We are asking for the minimum of $.25 per child for the Propagation of the Faith Society. A little goes a long way in other parts of the world (where they send help), so if you can kindly send in $.25 next week, it would be deeply appreciated.

*A look ahead- we will also be collecting gifts for the Jesse Tree items at Christmas next-more information to follow.*
