Hello to November!! We prayed for all souls today in honor of All Souls Day.

*We had the Eastchester Fire Department visit us here at school today with an engine. We learned a lot. The firefighters gave us coloring books and hats. We thanked them for keeping us safe.*

Homework-Language arts- illustrating/writing a sentence; Handwriting- Ff practice

**A look ahead, Kindergarten will not be receiving a report card for the 1st quarter. We will be sending home a progress report, as well as the parent/teacher conferences coming up this month. The K's will receive the formal report card for the 2nd,3rd and 4th quarters.**

(Yankee Dress Down Day Tomorrow) Let's hope the Yankees clinch tonight!!

Happy Election Day! We had our own "voting"- ask the children! We voted for our favorite color unifix cube-BLUE won! and our favorite lunch between, pizza and chicken nuggets, PIZZA won!

Homework- Phonics- Initial Ff sound;Handwriting- Ff words

We have begun Gg and making Pilgrims and Native Americans (getting ready for Thanksgiving)

*The Yankees just want to win the Series at home...we hope!*

Homework-Phonics-same initial sounds;Handwriting/Phonics- Gg/initial Gg sounds

**Please practice initial and ending sounds of words- it is a skill needed for decoding of words and the 1st steps in Reading.**

****TEAM TEACHING- I taught K-A and K-B today and we did a phonics lesson on phonemic awareness- both beginning and ending sounds.****

(Please note we are collecting Food Items for the Poor this month- canned goods, dry food(cereal,...) along with toiletries for the older sisters-(toothpaste,powder,lotion,soap,tissues,...) In this month of Thanskgiving, we try to teach the children to be grateful for ALL that we have and to GIVE to those less fortunate!)

We did attend Mass with the whole school today. We continue getting ready for Thanksgiving...

*PLEASE NOTE: I have been summoned for jury duty, starting next week. I will have to call each night to see if I have to appear. The class will be covered and I will be leaving plans,...as needed. Wish me luck (not to be chosen!). I did not tell the children anything about the possibility of me NOT being here next week.
