WELCOME TO SUCCESS DRESSING OUT AND PARTICIPATION ARE REQUIRED This course emphasizes the importance of physical fitness, lifetime sports, and social skills. Activities include, but are not limited to aerobics, walking, strength exercises, jogging, station exercises, and a variety of activities. Our course is structured with the following fitness routine on activity days: 1) Walk(warm-up) 2)Stretch-Exercise 3)Run 4)Activity 8/24 thru 8/28 Welcome to Success (Orientation, Policy,and Procedure) 8/31 thru 9/4 Physical Fitness Pre- Test using President's Physical Fitnees Test as a guideline. (Curl-ups and Shuttle Run ) 9/8 thru 9/11 Physical Fitness Pre-Test Continued (V-Sit Reach and One Mile Run) 9/14 thru 9/25 End Pre-Test (Push-ups) Begin Softball Unit which includes: 1.History 2.Rules 3.Regular Softball games 4.Backwards Softball 5.Score Keeping 6.Officiating 7.Ground Maintenance 8.Home Run Derby 9/28 Progress report 9/28 thru 10/1 complete softball unit 10/05 thru 10/16 Begin Soccer Unit which includes: 1. History 2. Rules 3. Soccer Games 4.Indoor Soccer 5. Sideline Soccer 6. Drills to improve skills 7. Strategy 10/19 thru 10/20 Soccer Tournament between all classes in Grade level (winner goes to wall of fame) 10/26 thru 10/30 Circuit Training which includes 1. Foul Shot 2. Lay-Up 3. Wall Push-Ups 4. Jump Rope 5. Chair Dips 6. Spot Shot 7. Dribbling 8.Jumping Jacks 11/2 thru 11/6/09 Basketball Circuit Training Skills and Drills which includes: 1. Dribbling 2. Passing 3. Scoring 4. Defense 5. Offense 6. Foul shots 7. Rules 8. History 11/9 thru 11/20/09 Free Throw Contest (Winner advances to county event).
