 During the month of November, our 4th grade girls will compete with our 4th grade boys in a friendly First in Math Competition! The team to earn more stickers (average) wins! Previous stickers count! Good luck!

 

*To lighten book bags, students may want to use the on-line

math book (See bottom of School notes Page for information.) 

and work ahead for the week in the Simple Solutions Books.

        Anti-Bullying Program

(Fridays - Following Liturgy)

11/5/09 The difference between telling and tattling was discussed. Students also determined appropriate responses to bullying by participating in a group activity. 

10/30/09  Halloween Party (Bullying discussed at opportune times throughout the week.)

10/23/09  The 4th grade discussed examples of  bullying and appropriate responses to those situations. The issue of including/excluding others was addressed. In addition, students completed the 10/23 bullying survey, noting any positive/negative interactions with classmates during the week.

 10/16/09 No School / Clerical Day

10/9/09  Our entire group of Provident Peacemakers participated in Friday's Liturgy, with the theme of Mass being peace.

Dressed as Saint Francis, Joey S. did an excellent job leading the procession of 4th Graders and their animals into the chapel, as Malia read beautifully!

10/2/09  The 4th Graders continued the Provident Peacemakers activity, focusing on the positive attributes and wonderful characteristics that make each classmate special. Students also completed the October 2nd weekly survey, noting any positive/ negative interactions with classmates during that week.

 

      9/25/09  The 4th Graders discussed being Provident Peacemakers.

      Students participated in an activity which highlighted each child's

      special gifts, talents, and personality.

 

       9/18/09  The 4th Graders completed surveys regarding bullying.

     These surveys will be helpful in guiding future anti-bullying topics.

 

     9/11/09 The 4th Grade began the Anti-Bullying Program.

     *The students:  *defined bullying.

                             *discussed that bullying can occur in various forms,

                            hurting a person's body, feelings, or property.

                              *resolved to be Provident Peacemakers.
