Geology 12 Updates November: Students finished unit 3, Internal Processess. Students became familiar with Earth's interior, Plate Tectonics and Forces and Structures acting within and on Earth's surface. Students on Work Permit: Students on work permit have already been given their first work package. Once you complete this work packaged, "entitled "What Rocks are Made From" you will be given your second work package entitled, "Elements, Minerals and Rocks." You can pass in your first work package and pick up your second package at the main office. December 1st: Students have just begun a new unit - Elements, Minerals and Rocks. All students are responsible for completion of the assignments listed below. Students must pass these in for assessment purposes.
1. Mid - term questions - Pass over due. Please pass in for assessment. 2. Test Review Questions - Questions relating to the following topics in preparation for the last test in November; The Changing shape of the earth, Plate tectonics, Plate Boundaries, Volcanoes, and Earthquakes. All students were responsible for completion of these questions. 3. Article Questions 1, 2, 3 for article entitled, "Flooding in Bangladesh." 4. Volcanoe/Earthquake project - Students were responsible doing an internet research project on one of the two subjects. Students were provided a website to visit as well as corresponding questions to respond to. Students went to the library three times for research. 5. Work package entitled, What Rocks are Made From -- All students are responsible for reading the information and answering the topic questions provided at the end of the package (excluding question #8). 6. Students watched the film, "A Crude Awakening" and were responsible for creating 10 questions in relation to the film. Students must pass in a rough and good copy of the questions they create.
