Dear Fifth and Sixth Grade Parents and Orchestra Members,

I have a very important topic that we need to address. It has come to my attention that some of the students are being dropped off for morning rehearsal and the parents think they are at rehearsal but they are not coming to orchestra! I have made general announcements to the orchestra explaining that if their parents think they are at orchestra, that is where they should be. I don't want to scare them but they should not be leaving the school property to go to Stop & Shop without their parents knowledge or permission.

We are now rehearsing for the Spring Concert. Boys and girls, please make sure you are practicing your concert music at home. I know you want to do an amazing job for the Spring Concert! Please make sure you keep your music in a folder, especially if you bring your music back and forth to school. Several children keep losing music because they do not have a folder. I have had to make many additional copies and would like to try to conserve paper! Please remember to bring your instrument to school on your rehearsal or lesson day and bring it home the same day. Do not leave your instrument in your locker or in other classrooms.

If you play the cello or bass and you think it needs to be tuned, you can bring it to school anytime to be tuned. If you have a parent bring it in and they want to take it right back home, just make sure it is on a day that I am in the building all day. I am in the middle school all day on Wed. and Fri. I am also here on Tuesdays but I go to Stokes in the middle of the day and then return for the end of the day. I am at Stokes all day on Monday and Thursday.

If you registered for NYSSMA please make sure that you get your music as soon as possible.  If you have a copy of the music, it can be used to practice but you can not bring a photocopy to NYSSMA. Remember that you also need 2 copies of your song.

Orchestra members please see me any time if you have any problems or questions.
