                                            Reminders

        *Please make sure your child has a silent reading
           book at all times.
 
        *Please check your child's pencil case to be sure all
          the supplies are replenished. 
          I am going to start to have them to bring the
          case home every Friday so you can check it.
          Some children can really use pencils.   
 
   *  The children will need a box/container to
     put their valentine's in when we have our
     party on February 14.  Each child can put a
     valentine in each child's container, so no
     student names on envelopes please.  Thanks! 
     ( just wanted to give you time to make the
      box/container and get the valentine's. It
      does not come to school until Feb. 14).

                  Math

       The children will collect and analyze data
       using pictographs.  they will create and
       analyze a line plot.  We will locate name
      
points on a graph.
  
        We will work with developing our problem
        solving skills. We will review previously
        taught skills.
       
       The children have been given math flash cards.
        We also have the Mathletics Program for the
        children to use.
       Flash cards or Mathletics should be done
       throughout the week.  Mathletics has many
       skills to develop what the children learn in class.
       You were given the information you need for them
       to use it at home.  Enjoy it!

            Reading

       We will be reading "One Stuffed Rabbit".
       They will take the Unit 4 Skills Test.
       The results are on Gradebook.
       
     The children will be given the sheets with
     the vocabulary words on it for the stories. 

     We will  be discussing the pictures  of the
    story and predicting what might be happening
    in this story.  We will then read the story. 
    The children will be working with the vocabulary
     words on various practice book pages and
    orally with the class.  The children will take
    Vocabulary tests and Comprehension tests.

           Spelling

      We are working with Unit 23 words.

       The tablet must come home nightly so the
       words can be studied for the end of the
       week test.

                     Science

            We will discuss what happens as the moon
            gets bigger and smaller.
            We will also discuss constellations.
            If your child has a constellations book
            they may bring it to class to share with
            the children.

            Thank you for sending in the dinosaur books.
            The students in the class really enjoyed them.

                    Religion

        We will discuss how to be a follower of Jesus.
        We will show how we share the good news of
        Jesus with one another.
       

                

    FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT FOR THIS MONTH IS:

     We  will continue to make booklets to show
      how we should share peace with each other.
