Biology

1. Lab fees: $10 must pay in order to participate in labs and receive credit for class.  PLEASE PAY ASAP.

2.  Bell-sheets and notebook check on Friday, 3-2-12.

3.  Biology Chapter 8 Test on Thursday, 3-1-12.

4. Cell lab on Friday:  view prokaryote/eukaryote cells, plant/animal cells, and cells dividing(mitosis)

5.  Please make sure your child is prepared for my class.  They should have a notebook and a writing utensil everyday when they come to class.

Lesson Plans:  February 27-March 9

Monday:  Differentiate among the various types of transport.  Diagram, explain, and complete demo of passive and active transport.  Define mitosis, diagram and label stages.

Tuesday:  Describe the function of each mitosis stage.

Wednesday:  Explain what controls and damages the cell cycle, and describe the stages of cancer.

Thursday:  Review types of transport, cell cycle, and cancer.  Take exam on this information at end of class.

Friday:  Lab on types of cells (view plant and animal cell, make wet mount of own cheek cells and Elodea leaf cells), mitosis (view cell undergoing mitosis).

Monday:  Complete study guide for 9wks exam.

Tuesday:  Review answers to study guide and complete any make-up work.

Wednesday:  play jeopardy for review

Thursday-Friday:  9wks exam
