Weaver's Wonders ![]() Welcome to Mrs. Weaver's Class! ![]() Welcome to our class. Mrs. McNabb and I are very excited to have your child in our class this year. We have been learning so much and we are now in the downward slide towards 1st grade. Continue to work with your child each and every day on their sight words, numbers (focusing on 11 - 20 for third quarter), and writing good kindergarten sentences. Make sure you look at the Panther Pride Notebook that your child brings home each day. Remember that you are to sign the agenda EVERY NIGHT. If you have anything you need to tell me or let me know about, just write it in the agenda.
Please send a new change of clothes for your child. The set we have now is for warm weather and if your child needs to change they might be cold. By this point, your child should know all their letters and letter sounds. If they don't then we all need to work a bit harder. If you aren't sure how to help your child at home, please let me know. We want them to be successful. We are writing both our first names and our last names now. Work with your child at home to make sure they can spell their names and write them the correct way. Remember to ask your child what their PIN number is once in a while, especially if they normally bring a lunch. This will help them transfer the number from short term memory to long term memory. Feel free to visit our classroom any time. I welcome parents to come in and watch or even help out. I do ask however, that you allow me to be the "boss" in the classroom. If you would like to come in and help out, just write me a note and let me know when you want to come. We have started our "work stations" as part of our day. We go for approximately 45 minutes at work stations where we might be working on math skills such as sorting and making patterns, working with play dough which helps fine motor skills, working on our handwriting with Mrs. McNabb or even putting letters and sight words in alphabetical order. If you would like to come in and help out with this please write me a note in your child's agenda and we will set up a day for you to come in. Important Dates to Remember March 2 - Field Trip to the Civic Center March 25 - Early Release Day
***Your child will receive a special treat if you write me a note telling me that you have visited my website!*** |
