May and June Happenings:

The end of the year is here!  Please check your child's STAR log daily for upcoming events in our classroom and school.  It has been a real pleasure teaching your child this year.  Thank you for all you have done to make this a successful year!

What’s going on in Mrs. Cairrikier’s class?

·         Reading: Currently, we are reading Beezus and Ramona, the first book in the Ramona Quimby series by Beverly Cleary.  After we finish the book, each child will be doing a character study of one of the characters in the book.

·         Math:  We are reviewing multiplication and division.  I am also showing students multi-digit multiplication and long division, which is something they will see in fourth grade.

·         Writing: Our class is working on journal writing.  Every day, I give students a topic and they respond to that topic in their writing journals.  They are so creative and I really enjoy reading them!  I have also selected certain days that I have them tear out their journal entries so I can send them home for you to enjoy.  

Homework:

Please continue to work daily on reading for 20 minutes.
