Educators at Knox Middle School are continuing to work hard to prepare our students to work and to be successfully prepared for the technological challenges and demands that are ahead of them. As we all know, technical skills are a must in every aspect of the world that we can imagine. A great effort is being made by both Administrators and Teachers at Knox for your child to receive the best computer training possible at the middle school level. Our accessibility to computers systems consist of a Technology Lab and a Keyboarding Lab using PC computers systems that are windows based.  These labs are part of the Computer Technology Education for exploratory classes, 3- Academic Computer Labs(A, B, C) utilizing Mac Intel Computers curriculum integration, 12 Emacs for Writing and Research in the Library, and 34 Activboards, an Enrichment lab for Math and Reading remediation and a 21 century Core classrooms are equipped witha Activboards.  6th and 7th grade Language Arts and Math teachers also have the use of ten laptops per classroom. Knox teachers and students also have access to Ipods, laptops, and Activboards in the six grade classrooms. All students and teachers will have the needed 21 century school environment for more effective teaching and learning through technology.

Any reinforcement that students receive at home will greatly improve and enhance their computer skills. If parents have internet access at home, please ensure that students are using it as a positive and productive learning/research tool. The Public library is a great place to take students to search the Internet if they don't have access at home. Parental Statements are required.

Teachers at Knox continue to integrate technology skills into each curriculum area. This allows our teachers to enhance the teaching and learning of our of our students.  Knox continues to welcome any support from Businesses and the community.  Through many different partnership in the past, we have been able to provide access to updated equipment & technology to our students. Hopefully, this trend will continue.  Currently, we need Activboards-these are boards that allow students and teachers to interact with a variety of computer applications.  Teaching 21st century skills is a very important goal for the schools as a whole. Resources are a must to ensure that all students receive this type of training.  Your continued support whether it be volunteering efforts or donations are very much appreciated.

The greatest computer ever invented is your mind!
