Ms. Fink's Pre-K May 21 - May 25 Our Pre-K trip to the Green Meadow Farm is tomorrow! It sounds like it may rain, so please be prepared for it. All parent chaperones will need to drive to the farm. You may want to carpool. All chaperones need to pick up a special sticker from me tomorrow morning before we leave. You must wear it to show that you have already paid. The three classes will board the bus around 9:15 and we should leave the school by 9:30. Please remember lunches need to be in disposable bags and clearly labeled with your child's name. On Thursday, directions to the farm and a reminder sheet were sent home in the folders. Some children were absent so here are the reminders: -Dress appropriately for the weather. Sneakers and play clothes are advisable. -No lunch boxes, thermoses, or glass bottles are permitted. Please write your child's name on their disposable lunch bag. -We suggest children wear long pants since activities include pony rides and hayrides. -Souvenirs are not available for purchase. -There is no rain date for this trip. If the weather is rainy, please have the children come dressed with raincoats, rain gear etc., but no umbrellas please. This week we will continue our alphabet unit. Since we have a short week, we will only work on letter Uu. Many of our activities and projects will be related to letter Uu. Students will learn the sounds it makes and will practice writing the letter. Please have your child practice writing the letters at home. Your child can also look for and cut out letter Uu or pictures of objects that begin with it. Use the letters, words, or pictures to make a collage at home or send in the pictures and we will make one in class. I will keep them and put the pages together to make a class alphabet book. Our five caterpillars have made their cocoons. Now, we have to wait patiently for them to change and hatch. Hopefully, we will have butterflies by the end of the week! Wednesday, we will have Show and Tell. Students should bring in one item from home beginning with letter Uu if possible (I know it's going to be harder to find objects for the letters at the end of the alphabet) If your child can't find something for Uu, students may bring in one other item. Wednesday, we will attend church at 2:00PM for the May Crowning. We have been practicing The Hail Mary and learning about our Blessed Mother during her special month. This week we will continue to work on farm and butterfly projects. School will be closed this Friday, May 25 and next Monday, May 28. Monday - Music 12:30-1:10 Tuesday - Library 10:30-11:10 Wednesday - Show and Tell Thursday - Gym 9:10-9:50 Friday - Art 1:30-2:10 Reminders: -Please reinforce sharing and taking turns at home. -Students should not bring toys to school unless it is our Show and Tell day. -Students should wear sneakers to school, especially on Thursday, our Gym day.
