Ms. Fink's Pre-K February 6 - February 10 Update: In honor of the Giants' win, we will have a red, white, and blue Giants dress down day tomorrow (Tuesday). February is a short, but very busy month! We will celebrate Valentine's Day next Tuesday. We are going to order Angelina's pizza for lunch. Please send in $2 per slice by this Thursday, Feb. 9 if your child would like it. We will also have treats at snack time, so your children do not need to bring their lunch or snack on Valentine's Day. Students may bring in Valentine cards for all of their classmates, but please make sure all names are written clearly because they will be reading/looking for their names on the cards. February is Dental Health Month. We will be talking about all of the things we can do to keep our teeth clean and healthy. We will make some projects for it too. In addition, we will be learning about nutrition throughout the month. This week we will continue our alphabet unit. We will focus on letter Dd. Many of our activities and projects will be related to letter Dd. Students will learn the sound Dd makes and will practice writing the letter. Your children enjoy looking around our classroom for words or objects that begin with our letter for the week. Please encourage your children to do the same at home. The grocery store is another great place to look for our special letter. Please have your child practice writing the letters at home. Your child can also look for and cut out letter Dd or pictures of objects that begin with it. Use the letters, words, or pictures to make a collage at home or send in the pictures and we will make one in class. I will keep them and put the pages together to make a class alphabet book. We will have Show and Tell this Wednesday. Students should bring in one item from home that begins with letter D. All items must fit inside your child's backpack. We will also celebrate Presidents' Day this month. Friday, we will learn about Abraham Lincoln and will make his log cabin in honor of his birthday on Feb. 12. Specials: Monday - Music 12:30-1:10 Tuesday - Library 10:30-11:10 Wednesday - Show and Tell Thursday - Gym 9:10-9:50 Friday - Art 1:30-2:10 Reminders: -Please reinforce sharing and taking turns at home. -Students should not bring toys to school unless it is our Show and Tell day. -Students should wear sneakers to school, especially on Thursday, our Gym day.
