Advanced Math 7th Grade

For placement in advanced math next year, students must earn at least a 90% grade in mathematics for the year and maintain an overall GPA of 3.5.

You Can Do it!     <----Click on me

HOMEWORK POLICY!

Parents, please sign the math homework each night to verify the following:

1) That the homework is neat and there is at least one line or one finger's width of spacing between each problem.

2)  All homework problems, except for word problems, must have been copied.

2)  Work is shown step-by-step.

3) That the homework is done in pencil or erasable pen.

Although signing the math homework is not mandatory it is highly recommended and appreciated and beneficial for the student.

"Answers only" is seldom appropriate and will result in a low homework grade and low academic achievement.  Work does not have to be shown for simple math problems.  Long word problems do not have to be copied.

Thank you,

Mr. Curry

MR. CURRY'S MATHEMATICS CLASS EXTRA CREDIT

1)All students are eligible for extra credit!!!!  Extra Credit will count as one homework grade and five bonus points on the Chapter TEST!

2)To complete the extra credit follow this sequence: FIRST go to classzone.com, SECOND click on your math textbook, THIRD click on HomeTutor , FOURTH click on the chapter to be studied, FIFTH click each of the lessons and answer the six to eight questions.

3)  After you have answered the  6 to 8 questions you will receive a grade.  Your grade must be at least 90%!  If less than 90%, then you must do the lesson over again until you earn 90%. New questions will be provided by classzone.com.

4)  When you score is greater than 90% then print out only the first page of the lesson assignment!  Printing just the first page with the grade will save your printer ink and make your parents happy. When you press print you should be prompted with a pop up box that allows you to type your name.  Please type your full name then continue.

5)  Complete each section of the chapter then put the assignments in chronological order into the homework folder and make sure each page is labeled as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 which indicates chapter 1 lesson 1, etc.

6)  Hand in your homework folder the day of the chapter test and if you have the extra credit comleted you will receive 5 bonus points on the test.

7)  Late homework or extra credit might not get credit.  If there is a legimate excuse for lateness then parents please e-mail Mr. Curry with a brief explanation.

Dear Parents and Students,

For the second semester ( last 18 weeks), the one lowest test grade and the two lowest quiz grades have been dropped and are not calculated into the grade average on netclassroom.  The grades will still appear on netclassroom but will not be part of the grade average calculation.  So if your son did bad on one test and bad on two quizzes they have been dropped and do not count.  If you noticed the grade average rise recently that is due to the changes described above.

Final Exam is chapter 6 throught Chapter 12.3

70 Questions are on the exam 60 Multiple Choice and 10 Short Answer

Students were given a 100 question review and it was checked and returned to them.  Students must study their mistakes.

For extra review students can do Chapters 6 to 12 chapter tests at classzone.com.  The link is provided below.
