Reading Plans:  Skill for the week CAUSE AND EFFECT

MONDAY--
We will be going over our spelling words for the week, and the students will be given a few minutes to put their spelling words in ABC .

They should finish this for HOMEWORK if they didn't finish in class.

We will be reading our story for the week "Seal Journey". Test on this story is Friday!!!

Vocabulary quiz will be Wednesday on the following words:

assured, blubber, encounter, horizon, jagged, mature, nursery, squealed
**They were given a vocabulary list for this entire six weeks***

We also worked on our non-fiction tree map for our story this week.

TUESDAY--
We will begin writing a summary of our story "Seal Journey", and we will complete a worksheet that would be great to study for our vocabulary quiz. 


WEDNESDAY--Vocabulary Quiz!!

THURSDAY--Spelling test!!!
Students will also feel "fake" blubber during an experiment.

FRIDAY--READING TEST!!!

Monday: We will review compound sentences.  (A sentence a commoa a conjunction and a sentence). 
We will begin studying NOUNS this week.  Monday we will review common and proper nouns.
Common--any person, place, or thing.  (boy, girl, dog)
Proper--a specific person, place, or thing. (Will, Sarah, Eastside)
Guided and Independent Practice pgs. 92-93
Practice book pg. 21
Tuesday:  We will review nouns and will work a noun storm activity. Guided and Independent Practice pgs. 93-94.  Practice Book pg. 22
**Daily grade on compound sentences and nouns**
Wednesday:  We will look over abbreviations and titles.  Guided and Independent Practice pgs. 96-97.  Practice book pg. 23 
Thursday:  Review for test!!
Friday: Test on NOUNS
