 ALL upcoming 9th graders are required to read a book during the summer. The Title of the book is The Young Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews. Rosa Scott is purchasing 400 of these books so parents can purchase the book at Rosa Scott for $10.00 during the summer office hours 8:00am--1:00pm. These will be sold on a first come/first served basis until they run out.

 AR requirements have been changed for this last nine weeks since  you will be asked to read a few chapters of LOF at home. Once you meet these requirements, you can turn in your folder early for extra credit. AR will count as one test grade.

• pass the AR test (if you do not pass, you will need to read another book)

 Please check Active Parent regularly. You will see an assignment entitled "Homework Average." This is a percent of all homework turned in and it counts as a test grade. I re-average it every week, so if it's a low grade this week and the student does all homework next week, the average will be higher next week, etc. I usually have about 20 homework assignments per nine weeks.
