We have started our unit on Human Body Systems. We will be covering the Digestive, Circulatory and Respiratory Systems this year in 6th grade!  This unit has many classroom labs that will be done.  We expect every student to obey our Safety Rules and act appropriately for our labs.  We know they will do a great job learning about the structure and function of these systems!

EFFICIENCY OF HUMAN BODY SYSTEMS

When your child finishes this unit he/she should be able to answer the

following questions. . . . . .

What is the difference between structure and function?

How is structure and function related to the human body?

What is efficiency?

How are structures designed to enhance their efficiency?

What makes up a system?

What is lung capacity and how does it affect breathing?

What is surface area?

How does food move through the digestive tract?

What is the relationship between stimulus and response?

What are the components of blood?

What is the relationship between the circulatory and the respiratory system?  (How do they work together?)
