What is happening THIS Week (October 3-7)?
Due to time, we are going to have a quick look at Ancient Rome on Monday. Students will also have their Ancient Greece Tests returned. Please sign these and return. Students can correct the tests for partial credit added to grades. Please take advantage of this!
Tuesday-Friday- We will begin looking at the Middle Ages and what this time period was like. Friday we will be focusing on Medieval Fairs in order to prepare for our upcoming trip to the NC Renaissance Festival.
CNN News Continues!

Start Strong!
This page is designed to help fill you in on what is going on in my class, what is expected of your student, and other interesting news tidbits as they arise.
Please bookmark this webpage and select "Notify Me When This Page is changed" for update information. The purpose of this page is to keep you informed about what is going on with my class and our team throughout the year.
One of the best things that you can do to help your 6th grader is to STAY INVOLVED AND AWARE! Read our page sites, check the homework agenda (if you don't like what you see, call the homework hotline or send us an email) and keep lines of communication open!
If we work as a team together, we will achieve amazing success.
About My Class:
For the Sandpiper team, I will be teaching Social Studies and Science on alternate quarters. Social Studies will be our first and third quarters; Science will be our second and fourth quarters.

Supplies for class:
Please check out our team supply list- it covers what you will need.
One particular item for my class (non negotiable):
ONE marbled/tape sided composition book (NO spirals-trust me they will fall apart, we need toughness here)

Contacting me
Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns. Often a note or quick talk while problems are small will prevent them from snowballing into big stressors for your child, you, and myself.
Please check the top of my page, or use the edgate page to send me an email. (To be honest, this is the way that works best for me when the schedule gets hectic.)
You are ALWAYS welcome to schedule a time to meet and talk with me. Sometimes direct face to face interaction is the quickest way to an understanding.
You may also call the school, and I will get back to you ASAP.
You are also able to send notes in your student's agenda, but be aware that I may not be aware of the note or be shown the note in a timely manner.
