Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade
All classes will follow the N.C. Standards for Arts Education in Music1. Learn to sing alone and with other, a varied repertoire of music 2. Performing on instruments 3. Improvising melodies, variations and accompaniments 4. Composing melodies 5. Reading and notating music 6. Listening to analyzing and describing music 7. Evaluating music performances 8. Understanding relationships between music and the other arts 9. Understanding music in relationship to history and culture
Sixth Grade MusicThe sixth grade music program is a nine weeks general music course. Unit 1- Rhythm Unit 2- Melody Unit 3- Harmony Unit 4-Tone Color Unit 5-Style Unit 6-Turn of the Century Unit 7- Patriotic Music Unit 8-Dance Unit 9-Musical Theater
Seventh Grade ChorusThis is a quarter course which emphasizes the choral aspect of music.

Eighth Grade ChorusThe eighth grade choral program consists of a quarter course or an auditioned "Honors" class for more advanced students second semester.
