French Bienvenue au cours de français ! Welcome to French class
Students can find some interactive activities to practice online : http://go.hrw.com/gopages/wl.html is the site that matches our textbook. Select "world languages", "French", "Allez Viens! level 1". Then they click on the corresponding chapter. Other source : on the Daniels page, Teams & Depts, click Electives, Foreign Languages, Website and then select the French flag.
Beginning French (4th pd) Students will be issued a textbook that they will need to bring to class every day. They will also take the book home to complement the study of their classnotes. Parents, please ask your child to show you how each chapter is divided (following a certain color code). Note that at the end of each chapter, there is a glossary that follows the same color code. Current unit : school subjects. We are learning school schedules in France. students will create a clock to learn how to tell time (Chapter 2, 2nd stage). Quiz on telling time and parts of the day/schedule on Tuesday, Feb.
Intermediate French (6th pd) Vocab : Getting the waiter's attention and ordering. Grammar : using the imperative mood of a verb (Chapter 5, 2nd stage). Quiz on Wednesday, Jan. 27
Advanced French (1st pd) This year we are going to focus on writing and speaking. Students will write weekly journal entries. Our goal is to incorporate the little bits and pieces of vocab and grammar that we learn into more elaborate written production. New unit : shoppipng for food (Chapter 8). Vocabulary : offering/accepting/declining food.
Beginning Spanish (2nd pd) We are in the "Para empezar" section of our textbooks. Current unit : body parts, definite articles el, la, los, las. We are also learning the alphabet |
