RELIGION

We will use two textbooks this year New Testament and Creed. The books are designed to complete a chapter per week. We will read the text in class and you may take notes in class or review and outline outside of class. You will be allowed to use your notes for the weekly test. You will be graded on your notes and the test as well as miscellaneous, small projects throughout the year.

Assignments

Due date:

Wednesday 11/18 Parable is due today. I asked you to write a modern day parable that includes the four characteristics of a parable that Jesus would give in His day: Built on a simile; True to life; Filled with surprises; and Presents a challenge.

Generally we will work in class on each chapter. You should complete your notes at home if necessary. Notes may be used for the test.

**Thursday 11/19 Test on Chapter 10 (If we are unable to take the test today because of the Thanksgiving Feast, I will give it to you tomorrow in Social Studies class.)

You will be allowed to use your notes for the test! **

Dress Code:

Please observe the dress code as described in your handbook.

Dress shoes are required and socks should be appropriate for the footwear. The very short socks which go by different names - athletic socks, invisible socks, shoe liners - are not appropriate for dress shoes.

You are expected to have uniform sweaters or fleece to wear if you are cold.

Boys - you should be wearing uniform pants (from the uniform company) the other brands tend to fade and wrinkle.

Girls - check your length, have you outgrown your uniform from last year? The handbook says that the length should be no more than 1 inch above your knee.
