May 21st

This is our last story and spelling unit for the year!  I can't believe how fast this year went.  The kids are super excited to be done with word building.  Nothing much going on this week. 

Next week is a busy week.  No school on Monday, May 28th, and Friday, June 1st.  Since we are finishing the reader this week, there will be no story or spelling tests next week.  However, there will be the Skills and Holistic Assessments next week.  Also Field Day is next Tuesday, May 29th.  The kids are so excited about what color team they are on.  They may wear their team color on Tuesday, so its like a dress down day for them.  The following are the teams:

Red Team- Silvana, Matthew, and Billy

Blue Team- Paige, Kevin, and Damian

Purple Team- Kate, Gina, and Colton

Yellow Team- Anna H., Anna S., and Jack

Green Team- Molly, Courtney, and Andrew

Orange Team- Isabella, Tyler, and Garrett

In addition to no school and Field Day, we will be having a Fondue party on Thursday because Kevin's family sold the most percentage of Sarris candy.  Thank you Oxenreiters!  And we will be taking part in Mass on Thursday as well.  So next week is busy!

Story of the week: Baboon

Fractions

Homework:   Workbook page Mon. and Wed. night.  Please have your child use First in Math at home for at least 3 nights for 10 minutes to study addition and/subtraction facts.  Also, call out addition and subtraction facts while driving in the car or at dinner.

Religion

Mass will be celebrated this Thursday at 10:00am.  Please come say hi and give your little one a squeeze after mass. 

We are celebrating Easter.  We will be talking about forgiveness in Chapter 19.

Handwriting

We have been talking about writing from top of the line or middle of the line to the bottom.  Some students write bottom to top and should not write that way.
