COURSE BLUEPRINT FOR BUSINESS (6th Grade) Mrs. Wooten
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to review basic keyboarding skills while using word processing and power point software. Time will be allotted each class period for students to review math and language arts concepts while at their computers. The student will be able to:-Identify the parts of a computer system -Identify and differentiate the various input, output, and storage devices. -Describe and demonstrate proper computer care. -Describe the purpose and use of computer hardware and software -Demonstrate the touch method in operating the alphabetic keys -Demonstrate the use of appropriate operational and correction keys -Demonstrate the touch method in operating the numeric keypad -Use spreadsheet software to keep a running average of their grades GRADE PERCENTAGES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: Assessments/Projects 25%, Daily Assignments/Participation 65%, Homework 10% All materials will be provided for the class. Students are asked to bring their agenda to class each day.
CLASSROOM RULES 1. Walk into classroom quietly, in uniform. with agenda in hand. Sit at assigned computer and follow instructions on the board. 2. Abusing computer equipment will result in losing computer privileges. Load only programs that you are instructed to load. 3. Gum, food and drink are not allowed in classroom.
4. When you need assistance while working at your computer turn your computer number to HELP! 5. We take pride in the cleanliness of our school so therefore clean up your work area and return your folder to your teacher before leaving classroom.
