Welcome! Welcome to Mrs Bailey's webpage!. The Advanced Language Arts program's primary objective is to increase students reading comprehension,vocabulary mastery,expand writing forms-including writing a research paper, broaden critical thinking skills, and increase grammar skills. We hope to encourage a love of learning!!

All classes will be reading a particular genre this quarter and completing a project to go along with their book.  The assignment will be due January 5, 2009.

SIXTH GRADE: The second quarter for sixth grade will include vocabulary study(Wordly Wise and Word Skills) and grammar review of the parts of speech.. The class  has begun reading  The Giver  writing a  literary journal and projects in conjunction with the novel. 

SEVENTH GRADE: Second quarter for seventh grade consists of the study of vocabulary(Wordly Wise and WordSkills ) and a review of grammar.  The students are reading To Kill a Mockingbird .  They are also writing in preparation for our county mock writing test using graphic organizers,  peer grading and proofreading skills.

EIGHTH GRADE: The class this quarter has begun reading The Hobbit and is continuing their  vocabulary and grammar study.  They will have a  project  utilizing multiple intelligences coving chapters 1-10 in The Hobbit.  A literary journal is also required.
