Language Arts Second Quarter Syllabus (October 28-January 21)

Grammar- Students will complete daily warm-ups to improve editing skills. 

                 Students will review parts of speech.

Literature- Students will read the following short stories:

                  "Eleven"  "The Jacket"  "All Summer in a Day"

                  "The School Play"   ""Tuesday of the Other June"  

Vocabulary- Students will begin Word Skills (Bronze Level) to increase vocabulary development.

Project- Students will create an original short story.

Important Dates

November 4- No school (Teacher Workday)

November 11- No school (Veteran's Day)

November 26-28- Thanksgiving break

December 3- Mid-term progress report issued

December 22-January 2- Christmas/Winter break 

January 19- No school (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday)

January 21- End of second quarter
